1.0 Course Fees – Terms & Conditions

By accepting the Terms and Conditions for using our online application system you declare that all information provided by you is correct. The falsification of any information provided by you, or the provision of incorrect information may result in the imposition of a financial penalty and/or expulsion from Setanta College. Payment by you to Setanta College does not constitute a binding contract.

Disputes arising from the use of the online application system and the interpretation of Setanta College Terms and Conditions are subject to the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Disputes may be brought before the Irish courts. Setanta College reserves the right to institute proceedings in the country of your residence.

In order to apply for an exemption, an applicant must furnish the College with a transcript of course subject results and a syllabus when submitting the application form. The College will then submit this information to the relevant examining body and the applicant will be informed of the outcome. This process may incur a fee from the examining body. (Ref. Procedures in APL/RPL). Applicants to the Master of Science Programme must enclose transcripts with their application.

2.0 Course Fees – Refund Policy

Full payment of the first module of the course must be made before the course commences. This module fee secures a place on the course.

Fee refunds are not given to any student who has accessed course content or for any student who commences a course and subsequently feels that the course does not suit him/her.

Once a student completes one module he/she will not receive access to the next module until the next module is paid in full.

The module fee is non-refundable once a module has commenced and non-transferable once payment has been issued.

QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) parchment fee is not included in course cost. (Typical fees: €50 – Certificate, €100 – Higher Certificate, €150 – Degree). There is no QQI parchment fee for any of our short courses.

Setanta College reserves the right to charge a late payment fee on overdue accounts.
Setanta College reserves the right to withhold services to any student for non-payment of fees or other amounts due.

Course prices are subject to change and Setanta College reserves the right to charge additional amounts to reflect any pricing changes taking effect before the commencement of the next module.

Course commencement is dependent on student demand and course fees will not be refunded once a course has commenced.

Setanta College requires any student wishing to cancel his/her course to provide written notification of this cancellation. A student will receive a full refund minus an administration fee of €180 if notice of cancellation is given prior to course commencing.
Setanta College requires 30 days’ notice when a student is not completing his/her chosen course. Failure to do so will result in an administration fee of €75.

A fee of €75 will be applied to all students repeating a module.

For students who are having their fees paid by a third party, it is the participant’s responsibility to liaise with these bodies and to furnish our college a letter of approval of fees prior to commencement of the course and to request any necessary documentation from Setanta College.

The College has protection of enrolled learner (PEL) arrangements in place for all relevant QQI validated courses in accordance with the Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Act 2012.

All Setanta College QQI accredited programmes of education and training of three months or longer duration are covered by arrangements under section 65 (4) of the qualifications and quality assurance (education and training) act 2012 whereby, in the event of the provider ceasing to provide the programme for any reason, enrolled learners may transfer to a similar programme at another provider, or, in the event that this is not practicable, the fees most recently paid will be refunded.

At Setanta College this is currently provided by Griffith College Dublin and ICHAS. This is subject to change by the college and any changes will be notified to students in due course as and when they arise.

Currently there is tax relief on our QQI accredited programmes. It is the responsibility of the prospective student to check the details of the relevant tax relief scheme prior to enrolment in the College. Receipts are issued by Setanta College once payment has been received.

By accepting the Terms and Conditions for using our online application system, you confirm that Setanta College can share your contact details with QQI, other relevant government agencies and other relevant colleges in the case of Protection of Enrolled Learners (PEL) arrangements being invoked.

This information will normally only be used by Setanta College to contact you in relation to education and training opportunities and for registering for certification with accrediting bodies. This information will not be shared with any other third party, except in the exceptional cases outlined above.

3.0 Events – Refund Policy

We can only offer refunds or exchanges if an event has been cancelled or rescheduled. Refunds can take up to 10 working days depending on payment processes, type of cards used, or third party involvement. This does not apply to any event that forms part of a course of education programme i.e. workshop on a Certificate or MSc programme.
